First Mission: Cameroon (2023)
In 4 days of work — 6 lives saved, 120 patients treated
In November 2023, a team of three — a midwife-paramedic, a gynecologist-surgeon, and a translator — traveled to Cameroon.

The work took place in the city of Ngaoundéré and the Kingdom of Idool. The specialists assisted in childbirth, provided therapeutic consultations, performed neonatal resuscitations, and carried out surgical operations.

With limited resources, the Russian medical team saved six lives, and 120 local residents received diagnostic and medical consultations. Humanitarian aid was also delivered, including medical instruments, medicines, consumables, and equipment.
The team of Russian specialists saved six lives.
  • A gentle delivery was assisted, with the woman being taught the necessary birthing techniques.
  • A cesarean section was performed on a woman with two uterine scars who was carrying twins.
  • Resuscitation was carried out for a premature newborn delivered after complicated labor managed by a local midwife. Due to errors in labor management, the infant developed apnea and hypothermia. Thanks to timely resuscitation measures, breathing was stabilized, cardiac activity was restored, and body temperature and vital signs were normalized. The baby was saved.
Conducted training sessions for doctors.
  • Training on natural pain relief methods during childbirth (relevant for Southern African countries due to the lack of medication supplies).
  • Training on manual skills for managing shoulder dystocia.
  • Training on the tactics of early and delayed umbilical cord clamping: modern approaches, indications, and risks.
  • Educational surgical procedures: cesarean section for twins, removal of an intrauterine device embedded in the uterine wall, and a training operation for tumor removal.
